In today’s tech-driven society, artificial intelligence is playing increasingly important roles in many aspects of lives, including teaching. While some argue that educators will be displaced by AI, I believe that human teachers are essential for students to develop comprehensive abilities and qualities that are valued in their future lives.
On the one hand, artificial intelligence can serve as an efficient tool in some aspects of teaching, as it provides a lot of APP that learners can utilize to efficiently expand their knowledge and skills. For example, Chat-GPT can immediately modify their written essay with correct grammar and precise words and phrases when students need, while this job could be finished costly in time through human teachers. This indicates that AI is expertized in static knowledge; however, sometimes there are some logical errors in this case, suggesting that AI may lack precisely logically analytical abilities.
Furthermore, when it comes to education, the most essential aspect is to foster students’ inclusive development, including not only knowledge and skills, but also human qualities. These qualities involving empathy, critical-thinking, and problem-solving, which AI always lack, are crucial for sutdents to being on the journey of studying and living. In fact, these features would be the most powerful forces for humans to drive the technological advancement and human progress. In schooling fields, studying and interacting with human teachers, in person or online, is indispensable for students to foster the unique human qualities.
In conclusion, while AI could be useful in teaching field, I strongly believe that it cannot take over human teachers due to lacking of human qualities. It is essential for educators to achieve a combination of AI tools and teachers, cultivating a more efficient and effective studying environment and condition, contributing to students’ comprehensive development.
