While some people prefer to lead a repetitive life built around familiarity, others take a more risky approach, actively seeking change and seizing every opportunity that life throws their way. In my personal opinion, both have their own merits, but stepping out of the comfort zone is much more rewarding.
For some individuals, familiarity and predictability provide a sense of security that is challenging to replace with constant novelty. Introverts might be prone to follow their planned routines, not because they have no desire to move forward and make changes in their lives, but because predictable routines allow them to feel comfortable and in control. A repetitive lifestyle can also reduce the uncertainty associated with major decisions such as changing careers, moving to a new place and entering unfamiliar social circles. Such people tend to think carefully, plan ahead and avoid hasty decisions that could lead to adverse ramifications. In this sense, consistency and caution are the main factors of stable lifestyle.
As for so-called “daredevils” who tend to act impulsively and rashly, life tends to be more exciting and colorful. There is an undeniable fact that something might go wrong, but this is the whole point of life – to do whatever your soul desires without fearing setbacks. We should also remember that taking risks can ultimately pay off, so it is better to try than never have tried at all. There is a metaphor known as “Groundhog Day,” which associated with monotony of repeating the same experiences day after day and in most cases, people who follow such routines may eventually become dissatisfied and worn out by their lives. By reducing repetitive actions in life and introducing novelty, the quality of life itself and a person’s state are likely to change for the better.
In conclusion, two possible approaches can be identified: either maintaining the familiar lifestyle to which you have already adapted, or constantly striving for change. Both have their advantages, yet taking risk is always better than living with regret.
