Band 6+: Some people think traditional games are better than modern games in helping children develop their abilities. To what extent do you agree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Some people argue that traditional games are better than modern games for helping children improve their abilities. While both types of games have their merits, I strongly believe that traditional games play an essential role in children’s growth.

On the one hand, traditional games promote children’s physical activities, which is crucial for children’s health and motor skills. For example, outdoor activities like hide and seek or tag involve running, jumping, and balance, improving motor skills and overall fitness. Furthermore, these games also require communication skills and teamwork, teaching children valuable social skills like collaboration and diplomacy. For instance, playing games like tug of war not only encourages physical agility but also helps children realize the importance of strategy and collaboration.

On the other hand, modern games often focus on cognitive skills such as problem solving and critical thinking. For example, puzzle based games or strategy games like sudoku require creative and logical thinking. However, spending too much time on screen and lack of physical can harm children’s health, such as causing eye strain or obesity.

In conclusion, both traditional games and modern games offer benefits to children’s development in different ways… I believe traditional games provide a balanced approach to child development by combining physical activities, social bonding, and diplomacy.
