The pie charts demonstrate four different purposes youngsters use their phones in African country from 2016 to 2019.
Overall, there was a general upward trend in using phones for Social Networks and Digital Camera, while the opposite was true in Email and Phone Calls during this period. Additionally, teenagers spend most their time using their phone for Social Networks, whereas there was fewer teenagers using Phone Calls.
Social Networks and Digital Camera made up a half proportion and 15% in 2016, respectively. From 2016 onward, there was a slight decline in Social Network (at 48%) before increasing to 51% and peaked at 56% in 2019. Digital camera percentage saw an increase trend when it finished the timeline at 20%, approximately one-third compared to Social Networks.
Regarding Email percentage, it accounted for 25% at the beginning of the period. It then fell moderately to 24% in 2017, 20% in 2018 and end at 19% in 2019. In Phone calls sector, it started at 10% and rose gradually over the next 2 years prior to plunging to 5% in 2019, nearly one-elevenths compared to Social Networks.
