Overall, in both years, the level of water used in the food industry accounted for the highest in the chart, while that in the building industry took up an opposite rate.
The data reveals that in 1997, the amount of water consumed in the food group was around 48%, taking account of mostly a half of the chart. Additionally, the sum of the figures for service industry, household use, manufacturing took up nearly the other half, at 13%, 19%, and 15% respectively. Notably, there was only the building industry whose statistics was significantly low, at approximately 5%.
As can be seen from the chart, in 2007, a noticeable decline by 7% was seen in the figures for the food industry. Likewise, the percentages of water used in building industry and manufacturing both witnessed a slight drop by 3%. Considerably, only the water consumption of service industry and households saw the opposite, with the former accounting for 25% and the latter for 21%.
