The bar chat illustrates the average proportion of male tobacco users worldwide and in seven countries, namely America, Egypt, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Cuba, Mexico and Australia.
Firstly, the global percentage of smokers dropped to just over 30% in 2015 from over 40% in 2000. In 2010, America has the largest population of smokers which fell by approximately one-fifth in 2015. Bangladesh also witnessed a significant drop of nearly a quarter. There was also a drastic drop in Mexico and Australia in the given time-period. Furthermore, mere of around 1% decrease was recorded in Cuba.
Secondly, Egypt and Lebanon both faced a rose in the smoking habit. The former experiences a nearly 15% rise, whereas the later witnessed around a increase of 10%.
Overall, the most striking feature is that majority of the countries witnessed a significant drop in their tobacco consumption by men. Globally, the numbers decreased which can be seen in the graph.
