In many nations, only few students pick science as a subject to study. From my perpective, this matter of fact stems from the difficulty of the subject itself and the societal effects resulted from this is making the development of our technology less significant.
For the causes, the subject has been widely neglected as it is too hard to fully comprehend. The reason is that science has always been considered one of the subjects that requires advanced thinkings and ability to learn mass amount of information. While advanced thinkings can be seen that students have to thoroughly look at theorems in order to understand why they exist or what causes them, learning massive amount of knowledge shows that students have to spend hours to memorise fully the information. An example to this is that the physics formula, a part of science subject, “e equal m mutiplied by rooted c” by Albert Eisten requires not only a thorough examination to understand why such formula exists, but also a great amount of time to fully understand any theoretical meaning of it.
Turning to the second point, the lack of students learning science as a subject would worsen the technology development in our society. We do understand that producing any technological items requires a great knowledge about electricity which can only be learnt on the subject science, particularly the mechanic of it. Futhermore, technology manufacturers have to be instructed carefully about the navigation of electrical atoms in order to merge capes and datas for creating devices like mobile phones, televisions, and tablets,… However, as the number of science learners has been reduced, such knowledges related to electricity would not be learnt in order to contribute to the development of today’s world’s technologies. Therefore, this development would be hindered if there were still not enough students to learn science as a subject.
In conclusion, the cause of decreasing number of science learners in many nations stems from the difficulty of the subject itself. If this countinues to happen, the development of technology in our society would be detrimentally affected.
