Back in the 1900s, bicycles were originally seen as mainstream in the people’s eyes when it comes to a method of transport. This, however, is not the case in the modern world today, as there are more options on transportation when compared to a century ago, such as cars, buses, trains,… and so on and nowadays, cycling became unpopular by the public when it comes to transportation.
Bicycles were originally popular back in the 1900s due to their versatility on moving around with ease. The problem comes with the people’s ability to cycle long distances with a bike, as cycling consumes a lot of stamina when compared to walking. Another reason as to why cycling had been declining was the lack of safety from the traffic, as there are areas without a road suitable for cycling and they had to merge with the main road, increasing the risk of accidents related to traffic.
There are some advantages on cycling, however. One reason people use bicycles were the cost, with them having an affordable price, around thirty dollars or less if there were biking gears included. Cycling can also help the environment around us, as they do not emit carbon dioxide when compared to cars and motorbikes. For others looking for bettering yourselves, biking can also considered as a sport, as they can train your respiratory systems inside your body to work
better and increase your stamina.
Since people use bicycles less as a form of transport due to the disadvantages with the traffic or health issues, consider the advantages as they might help the environment around us.
