The chart illustrates the outcome of a study of tourists who visited various destinations in the U.K. in 1999.
Overall, the majority of people toured theme parks, museums, and galleries, while others preferred to visit historic homes, wildlife reserves, and zoos.
To begin with, 38% of the tourists went to theme parks, and 47% of them, which is the majority visited the Black Pleasure beach. Legoland and Chessington World of Adventures recorded the least number of excursionists with their population accounting for 10% each. Other theme parks that were toured includes Alton towers and Pleasurised Southport, and the percentage of individuals that went to sightsee at these destinations were 17% and 16% respectively.
Regarding other attraction sites, wildlife parks and zoos received the least visitors, with their percentage being 9% of the total population. Other places sightseers travelled to are historic houses and museums/galleries. People on excursion to these areas accounted for 16% and 37% respectively.
