The diagramms show teenagers´ reasons for mobile phone usage between 2016 and 2019.
It is clear from the chart that generally social media gains importance to the adolescents. Even in 2016 it was clear that those platforms where the reason for the youth to pick up their phone in one out of two cases. However, the usage rose to 56% lately.
Same thing goes for the use of the integrated camera. Whereas 2016 it was taking up just 1/6 of the reasons, in 2019 the digital cameras are the second most important feature with 20%.
Unlike the already mentioned features of phones, there is a noticeable difference in the use of emails and calls. As presented, in 2016 the teenagers used the option of phone calls 10% of the time. However, in 2019 they tend to use them for this reason only 5% of their usage time. The use of emails shrinks for a similar amount, starting at 25%.
To put it in a nutshell, the summarised trends seem to go on even though 2017 and its data being odd considering that social media use was shrinking and phone calls were made more often.
