It is commonly thought that people spend not much time with their kids nowadays. In my opinion, this happens because parents of children spend a lot of time at work to provide for their families, and both parents and children suffer from this equally.
Initially, there are a lot of people who are overtiming at their full-time job in our modern world, so they do not have an opportunity to have enough time with their kids. The problem happens due to a high load of working stuff people have to do, needing to raise in a grade to gain more money to afford a life’s level that children’s parents desire. For example, according to the OECD, in a number of economically developed countries (such as the USA, South Korea, or Greece), the average annual workload exceeds 1900–2000 hours per person, which already equates to a high 40-hour workweek, yet many employees exceed this norm by working 50–60 hours weekly.
Secondly, the problem of parents low-time spending with their children gives a negative affect for both sides equally. That annoying situation puzzles a countless number of working parents because this trend destroys relationships in their families and provides a feeling of children’s loneliness. For instance, according to the UNICEF reports, children who receive insufficient attention from their parents due to their constant employment are more likely to suffer from feelings of loneliness and increased anxiety, while the parents themselves experience guilt and stress, which together undermine family relationships.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that kids who receive not enough time from their parents get negative effects from this problem, such as loneliness and stress. Meanwhile, working parents become upset due to that issue too, but I hope in the future people will resolve this problem effectively.
