Advantage And Disadvantage

The number of universities that offer educational programs for international students is rising. While some people believe that moving abroad for educational purposes is beneficial, others hold an opposite view. This essay will highlight both advantages and disadvantages of studying abroad.

On the one hand, pursuing a degree in a foreign country can offer several benefits for students. Firstly, scholars may have more opportunities for conducting research in the field of their study. Since only a few prestigious universities offer advanced equipment and professional guidance, scholars can prioritise them over local educational centers. This is the reason why research-based universities, such as Yale and Harvard, receive a large number of applications from all over the world annually. Secondly, students may benefit from a diverse environment during university years, since cultural exchange plays a vital role in their personal development. If young generations focused exclusively on studying in their home country, they would lose the opportunity for exploring a variety of cultures and traditions.

On the other hand, there are a number of difficulties that students may face during their studies. One of them is related to homesickness, which can be caused by the lack of support in a new country. Considering the fact that the majority of students are young and inexperienced, it would probably be hard for them to adapt to an unfamiliar environment. Furthermore, studying abroad requires students to cover a huge amount of expenses, including regular flights and accommodation. As a result, students might focus on their part-time jobs rather than university studies, aiming to cover all bills and charges.

To conclude, moving to a foreign country for higher education is a complex process. Students should consider both the merits and demerits of that concept and make a decision wisely.
