The diagram below shows the process of water treatment for people’s use.
The first process of water treatment is water intake, this process is done by a pipe powered by an engine, this pipe pulls the water up from the lake and brings it to the next process. The next process is coagulation, this process is done by a pump filter that removes cloud particles and any weak bacterias. After coagulation is done, all the particles that are filtered, descends to the bottom of the tank. The water from the tank is then brought to the sedimentation process. This is where all the remaining particles that are filtered out gets removed from the tank. This is done by having a second pipe that drains the remains. When this process is done, the water, the water travels through a pipe into the filtration process. Filtration is done by having multiple filtration plates that contain tiny holes small enough to filter out any dirty particles. After filtration process is done , the water then goes through disinfection process, which removes all bacteria and pathogens. When this process is done, the water is sent to the storage which is now clean and ready to be distributed to our uses.
Overall, water treatment has to go through all 7 processes; water intake, coagulation, sedimentation, filtration, disinfection, storage and lastly distribution before being used by the public.
