Band 5+: Nations should spend more money on skills and vocational training for practical work, rather than on university education. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Write at least 250 words

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is widely acknowledged that governments should channel resources towards practical experience rather than on academic learning. From my opinion, I totally disagree with this view, and this essay will discuss perspectives of this view and hightlight reasons support my view.

In the ongoing time, most jobs require proficiency and degree, which are solely acquired from the academic education. Assuming that governments focus on practical skills excessively, this will engender a surplus of ill-informed workforce. Consequently, the work efficiency will decrease in lights of lacking properly trained workers from education institutions. Instead, national budget should be allocated to university education. As governments invest in education, the quality of studying will entirely be enhanced, generating a top-notch outcome that can cater to the development of the nation. Additionally, universities play a pivotal role in advancing knowledge, which is the main driver of the economic progress.

Moreover, several specific jobs, which are the foundation of the national development, requires a significant number of proficient workforce. Given how significant that authorities spend on manual fields, these indispensable jobs will be neglected, thereby hindering the economic progress. For instance, scientific occupations require workers with in-depth knowledge to innovate high-quality products serving for the nation. Conversely, vocational learning only ensures the economic stability rather than any breakthroughs. As the nation overemphasizes vocational training and hands-on expericene, there will be a shortage of creativity, which is the key factor for the development in all fields.

In conclusion, as mentioned earlier, I totally disagree with the given view. A balanced approach should be implement on both sectors: practical and academic learning, thus contributing to the well-rounded development of the nation.
