Band 5+: Nations should spend more money on skills and vocational training for practical work, rather than on university education. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Write at least 250 words

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Opinions are divided on whether the government should allocate funding in vocational training rather than tertiary education. In my opinion, I disagree as funding can be distributed and utilised in both ones.

Admittedly, trades training can have positive impacts on students. To begin with, vocational curriculum is much more affordable than university ones because graduates in university must study at least three to five years , while vocational students can graduate after two years. This can greatly facilitate them to spare much time to identify their suitable jobs. Moreover, vocational schools are able to address the issue of workforce loss , since universities prioritize theoretical tuition and several jobs put the emphasis on theory rather than practical skills. As a result, vocational schools equip students with many skills for their job, guaranteeing better national economic operation.

Despite some benefits of trades training, academic studies can positively affect students . Firstly, tertiary education can provide learners with higher education which advocates public welfare systems. Since, universities will train many talented graduates from diverse jobs such as technique, technology, science and so on. These jobs can foster creativity and incentives of technological advancements and there it plays a crucial role in growing the economy in the country . Additionally, university education is likely to teach learners about soft skills thanks to high workload and requirement from academic studies. This can assist them to compete to land better career paths.

In conclusion, technical training and degree programs have their own sides , which benefit both students and the national economy . I believe that the government should equally prioritize investment .
