It is a proposal that every student should complete education programs until age 18. Although this policy might not be suitable for all individuals, I strongly believe that it provides a more comprehensive education and better preparation for the future.
On the one hand, those who support no need to remain at school until 18 point out that not all students are suitable for academic education programs. If students are unwilling and unable to absorb lessons at high school, this compulsory school age is becoming a waste of money and time. Alternatively, students should be allowed to join the workforce to earn money to contribute to their financial family and their community. Furthermore, there are occupations that do not require a high school degree. This is because, to become/ becoming a successful singer, footballer or hair designer requires practical experiences and strenuous training instead of high qualification.
However, I firmly argue that schooling until the age of 18 provides learners with sufficient education and preparation for the further education. This is because, with more time in school, the educational system could ensure that schoolers are equipped with necessary knowledge and skills to develop comprehensively. Thus, school leavers with higher qualification would have a competitive advantage in degree based-on society. Additionally, the educational environment is the safest for adolescents who are not mature enough to distinguish between the right and the wrong. Being exposed to the real world at an early age, teenagers could be affected by social temptations and illegal activities such as drug dealing or crimes. Therefore, schooling keeps young students avoiding these dangers until they are fully aware of the outside world.
In conclusion, although this policy is not feasible and suitable for all students, I strongly believe that children and adolescents should try to complete their first 18 years in educational institutions due to numerous advantages that it can offer. The government also should take more initiatives to support the educational system by subsidizing tuition fees.
