While advertising does influence teenagers’ style decisions, other factors, such as parents, music, and peer pressure, have a greater impact. However, there are some other factors that influence young people’s choices. For instance, it might be parents, music, or even peer influence.
Firstly, parents often affect their children’s opinions much more significantly than any advertisements, especially when it comes to the purchasing process. As teenagers’ budgets are often controlled by their parents, they cannot always buy whatever they want.
Secondly, music plays a major role in shaping styles. Many young people admire their favourite musicians and start copying them and their outfits in order to be a little closer to their idols.
Finally, the influence of the crowd also often carries weight. Teenagers tend to dress similarly to their peers in order to fit in and feel accepted. Despite this, these days, individuality is increasingly valued among teenagers.
In conclusion, I believe that advertising is not the most decisive factor of teenagers’ decisions. Moreover, there are a greater number of more relevant influences, such as family, music, and social surroundings, which play a far greater role in shaping their style choices.
