The graph illustrates how much fuel based on clean energy used in the transport sector in six distinct countries in the EU in 2009 and 2010, in comparison with EU average. Overall, there was a moderate growth in the usage of clean energy based fuel. In addition, Slovakia emerged as the largest user while Greece was less likely to invest in this field.
Starting with the proportion of fuel based on clean energy, EU’s transport field taken 4% of total energy consumption, which experienced a slight increase to just under 5%. Furthermore, there was a similar growth saw in Poland, Spain and Greece where the usage increased by roughly 1%, 6% and 2% respectively, with Greece was the only country using clean energy below EU average.
In the remaining ones, Slovakia stood out as the dominant consumer of clean energy-based fuel in the transport sector with 9,5% in 2009, which fall to nearly 8% after one year. Additionally, Austria and France, although they used to be a comparable usage in 2009, at around 6%, the former experienced a minimal decrease to 5% as opposed the former remaining unchanged.
