It is often argued that it is beneficial for societies to utilize students as volunteer workers. in this essay, I strongly disagree with this notion because it could lead to demotivation and pose significant financial issues for students.
On the one hand, working without compensation would not benefit society, as it could decrease enthusiasm and motivation among pupils. Individuals would gradually become reluctant to do unpaid work, even though they initially find it intriguing and rewarding. This is because they may begin to feel that they are performing unimportant tasks, as there are no incentives for their efforts. So, a society cannot truly benefit from a population of dissatisfied students struggling with disinterest and disappointment.
On the other hand, participating in volunteer work might create substantial economic challenges for students, leaving them still financially dependent on their families. As students spend their time on volunteer work, whether part-time or full-time, it is reasonable for them to expect to be paid. Additionally, commuting to work can be quite costly, which further increases their daily expenditures. Therefore, this could negatively affect their financial status, ultimately having an adverse impact on the society’s economy.
In conclusion, while some people believe that volunteer work done by students can be advantageous for the community, I believe that it is much more disadvantageous. This type of work could cause demotivation among the youth and impose considerable financial burdens on them. It is, therefore, recommended that students focus on their studies and avoid doing unpaid work.
