Band 7+: Some people think that traditional reading materials (e.g. books and newspapers) are no longer useful, and electronic materials will replace them soon. Compare and contrast the benefits of the two different materials. Which one do you think is more useful? Why?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Technology advancements have had a significant impact on our lives, offering both advantages and disadvantages. Previously, acquiring information required physical books and newspapers. Nowadays, electronic devices allow us to easily access scripts or news that pique our curiosity. Consequently, reading directly on gadgets or computers, instead of purchasing physical copies, offers numerous benefits. This essay will explore and compare the advantages of these two approaches in terms of cost, time efficiency, and information currency.

To start, in the current era, obtaining the most recent news updates is as simple as sitting at home and entering keywords on our laptops or devices. This convenience extends to information on weather forecasts, job opportunities, rumors, and gossip. This accessibility eliminates the need to buy newspapers from the market, saving both time and money. In contrast, newspapers typically contain information that is up to two weeks old by the time they are published, requiring additional time and money for a trip to the store.

Based on the aforementioned points, it is evident that traditional materials may eventually become obsolete as electronic resources offer superior benefits. Another advantage of digital content is the lack of physical space needed to store old newspapers once they have been read. Therefore, electronic materials present more advantages over traditional resources when it comes to accessing and staying updated on the latest news.

In conclusion, utilizing electronic materials for news consumption offers more benefits compared to traditional methods. Readers not only save money but also time by accessing current information through modern means. This shift towards digital methods and resources is likely to transform traditional practices in the future.
