The pie charts illustrate the proportion of UK tourists visiting Spain in different age groups in 1983 and 2003.
Overall, the 35-54 age group has the highest rate of tourists in both years, but its percentage decreases over time. Meanwhile, the 0-15, 16-24 and 55 tend to increase, while other groups decreased.
In 1983, the 35-54 age group accounted for half of all British tourists visiting Spain, making it the largest group. The 25-34 and 55+ age groups followed, representing 20% and 16%, respectively. Meanwhile, around 10% of tourists were aged 0-15, which was twice the proportion of those in the 16-24 age group.
By 2003, the percentage of tourists aged 35-54 fell to 35% but was still the largest group. The 25-34 age group also dropped slightly to 12%. Meanwhile, the 0-15, 16-24, and 55+ groups increased, with the 0-15 group reaching 12%, and the 16-24 and 55+ groups rising to 15% and 26%, respectively.
