The table illustrates how many young adults from Tokyo (Japan) listened to music out of four ways (live, mp3-players, Internet and CDs) last mont divided by sex. The pie chart gives an illustration on preferences of people to listen to live or recorded music.
Overall, the most popular method among male listeners was mp3-players, while female tended to use live music, mp3-players and Internet almost with the same frequency. The CDs occured to be the least favoured by both genders during previous month. The international research of a record company showed that a wast majority preferred live music to the recorded.
More precisely, the mp3-players were used by 79% of boys, followed by listening to live music and searching the Internet – 60% and 55% respectively. By contrast, the difference between most popular female variants was not much noticeable. Listening to live music, which was popular among the 44% of girls, was only two percent higher than the usage of the Internet, and four percent higher than that of the mp3-players. Out of all methods, CDs were used by the lowest number of both sexes, namely 19% of boys and 22% of girls.
Regarding to the choice between live and studio music, 70% of surveyees preferred listening to live music. On the contrary, recorded music was chosen by 26% of people. The remained 4% couldn’t pick any of the answers.
