The charts down below demonstrates the increase the amount of people in the world’s massive cities, such as Tokyo, New York, Shanghai, Bombay, and Jakarta over three different time periods.
Overall, each cities has experienced the significant growth in the next period, however, Tokyo had the largest population compared to other ones, whereas, New York had the least citizens.
Looking closely, it is clear that Tokyo was the most crowded area since the beginning of the period in 1970 by reaching nearly 16 per cent, showing similar road by reaching nearly 27 per cent in 2010. However, most dramatic increase has happened in Bombay rising from 5 per cent to 26 percent, showing an enormous progress.
Correspondingly, Jakarta followed a same path, increasing from 3 per cent to 18 per cent in 2010. Comparatively, New York, Shanghai demonstrated an almost same level of 15 per cent during the given time.
