The bar chart shows the internet usage in Taiwan in four different age groups during the years 1998 to 2000.
Overall, internet usage is highest in the two middle age groups during the three year time frame while the youngest and oldest age groups have the lowest percentage during all three years. The oldest and youngest age groups saw a slight increase in usage percentage over the three year time span while the middle age groups saw a slight decrease during the same time frame.
For all three years, the age groups 16-30 years and 31-50 years maintain the highest percentage of internet usage. In 1998, the 16-30 years age group was the highest at 53%. The 16-30 years age group saw a slight decrease in usage over the next two years, falling to 45% internet usage in 1999 and ending at 44% internet usage in 2000. The 31-50 years age group shares a similar trend, reaching it’s highest percentage of usage in 1998 at 41%. The usage percentage decreases to 39% in 1999 and 37% in 2000.
Meanwhile, the groups less than 15 years and 50 or more consistently had less usage through the three years, but they increased usage slightly over the time period. The group less than 15 years was the lowest in 1998 at 2% internet usage. It gradually increased to 8% in 1999 and increased again to 9% in 2000, The group 50 or more follows a similar trend, starting at 4% internet usage in 1998 and increasing to 10% internet usage by 2000.
