Overall it can be seen that all of the countries experienced an increase. Although Austria experienced a sharp increase, other three different countries such as France, Germany and Italy saw a slight rise compared to Austria.
Firstly, focusing on Germany, from 1995 to 2003, the amount of money spent on books fluctuated between 80 and 90 million dollars, thereafter until 2005 data experienced a jump to almost 100 million dollars. Following this population in France spent money on books about 55 million dollars at the beginning of the period, and the rise observed in the following years, ending the period at 80 million dollars.
Similarly Italy started the period with an increase from 50 to approximately 55 million dollars between the years 1995 and 1997, in contrast until 1999 country saw a marginal drop to 50 million dollars. On the contrary data began to soar again until 2005, finishing the period at 60 million dollars. Finally Austria started at 30 million dollars in 1995, which was the lowest point recorded for any country, and to 1999 data rocketed to 40 million dollars. Between 1999 and 2001 data remained stable and then demonstrated a significant rise to nearly 70 million dollars, which means Austria surpassed Italy at the end of the period.
