The table compare the total share of interest in different seven sports in European state in 1999,2004 and 2009
Overall, Football stood as the most preferred sport over the entire time, despite considerable decreasing, where Yoga maintained the least, despite a slight increase in its share. Of a particular note is that, all sport types showed upwards trajectories whole the period, except Football and basketball.
The figure for tennis recorded the most pronounced growth overall, starting with 25% and increasing again to 30% in 2004, before reaching its peak at 33% in2009. Golf also mirrored this trend, with begun at 8%, rise to 13% in 2004 before further climbing to 17% in 2009. A similar pattern can be shown on Volleyball, which started at 17% in 1999 and went up 20 % in 2004, before declined slightly to 20% in 2009. Swimming accounted for the second largest share in the table. It started at 32% in 1999 and ended the period with remaining at 34%. Yoga started at 10% and stayed stable before rising 13% in 2009.
In contrast, Basketball and Football witnessed the opposite trends. Football begun at 57% in 1999 before declining to 52% in 2004 and further dropping to 48% in 2009. Basketball started at 26%, the share then fell moderately to just 25%, before dipping slightly to 24% in 2004.
