The given map illustrates the population development of a village called Chorleywood, occuring from nineteenth century by enhancement of transportation roads.
As is shown, from 1868 to 1883 there was only a small land near the main road without any neighborhood. By contribution of railway, which was built in 1909, a new land was found near that existing tiny district till 1922. Then, between 1922 and 1970 there was also new land foundation across the Chorleywood Station that could be seen in the left side of the image. This, considerably led to arising of the people who lived in mentioned village. Subsequently, after construction of motorway, began in 1970, the population reached to its’ peak, as it caused the developement of five different areas around Chorleywood park and golf course.
In general, it could be concluded that building roads to facilitate transportation resulted dramatically on the village population.
