In the line graph provided above, it demonstrates the changes in three different areas of crime in Manchester city center, including burglary, car theft, and robbery from 2003-2012. Overall, the rate of car theft and robbery seems to be more stable and slightly increased, and burglary significantly decreased during 2004-2008.
First of all, from 2003 to 2006, out of all three, burglary has the highest chance of occurrence, especially in 2004, with a total number of around 3,750 incidents. During that time, there were approximately 2,400 car thefts occurred, and 600 robberies happened. From 2004 to 2008, burglary noticeably dropped from above 3,500 down to below 1,500; car theft and robbery also had a slight change in society.
The crime rate in Manchester city center decreased at first, but then it began to rise again between 2008 and 2012. During this time, car thefts increased to 2,800, while burglary rose by around 400 in 2009 and remained steady until 2012. On the other hand, robbery only had a slight change.
In conclusion, although burglaries were the highest in three different areas of crime, it is greatly reduced by more than 2,000 in only four years. Car theft became the crime where people committed the most after 2007, and robbery stayed the same.
