Dear Mr. Hardy,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to request extending our contract to 12 months. First of all, I would like to express my appreciation regarding your hospitality and providing me with living facilities. Since I found the apartment convenient and cozy, I would like to stay here for additional six months upon your permission.

I rented the flat when I was studying at university and six months of my education had left. However, I decided to take another course to have a hands-on experience and enhance my qualifications. Therefore, I must stay in the town until Jan. 1st. Having felt like home in this apartment, I wish I stayed here.

In addition to my request, I wanted to inform you about a problem with the air conditioner. Unfortunately, it has stopped working since a time that we were ran out of electricity. I suppose it should be replaced with a new one. Thank you once again for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.
