The bar chart illustrates the proportion of residents using different types of transportation in five cities. Overall, the difference between the percentage of people using trains in Tokyo and this figure in the remaining cities was considerable. Initially, the usage of cars in Sydney was much higher than other cities.
Walking was the type of transport that shared the same percentage in all cities (approximately 5%). In the same way, a similar number can be observed in Sydney, New York and London in the proportion of bicycle utilization (around 10%). Besides, this figure in Paris was significantly higher than in Tokyo (roughly 15% compared to 5%). On the other hand, Paris displayed the largest percentage of bus application (around 42%), followed by London (30%), New York (23%), Tokyo and Sydney with the same proportion (20%).
In contrast, Tokyo stood out as an exception, with a remarkably high percentage of train usage (50%), while this figure in other cities ranged from around 16% to 25%. Likewise, car was used by a much larger proportion of people in Sydney (50%) compared with other cities (fluctuated from 20% to 40%).
