The given line graph compares the sales of three different kinds of books, which children’s books, adult fiction and educational books in one country over a four-year period between 2002 and 2006. Overall, it is clear that while the sales of children’s books increased significantly over the period, the sales of adult fiction declined.
At the beginning of the period, in 2002, the sales of children’s books stood at about 32 million dollars. After that, they rose steadily to roughly 40 million dollars in 2003, and upward trend continued stable until 2005 and they reached approximately 47 million dollars. The sales of children’s books began to climb sharply and peaked at about 55 million dollars.
In contrast, adult fiction recorded the highest sales at around 45 million dollars in 2002 but then witnessed a gradual decline. Although there was a slight recovery to 40 million dollars in 2004, they went down dramatically to approximately 30 million dollars by 2006.
As for educational books, they recorded the lowest sales at around 25 million dollars in 2002, after that they fluctuated between 20 and 30 million dollars, before finishing at roughly 32 million dollars in 2006.
