The line graph demonstrates the consumption of three particular spreads between 1981 and 2007.
Overall, all three spreads showed almost the same numbers but different trends. The amounts of margarine and butter decreased extremely by the end of the period, while low fat and reduced spreads were the highest among the three spreads over the period.
The consumption of butter spread started with the highest amount and reached almost its peak in 1986 with 160 grams. However, from 1986, it experienced a significant and, at the same time, gradual decline to 50 grams by the end of the period. Meanwhile, margarine began with approximately 90 grams of consumption. Therefore, margarine witnessed a slight fluctuation, and from 2001 to 2007, its consumption fell rapidly by 40 grams.
Additionally, the low fat and reduced spreads started with a consumption of about 10 grams. By 2001, it had increased to over 80 grams of consumption. Nevertheless, by the end of the period, it had shown a slight fall of 10 grams in consumption, respectively.
