The leisure time enjoyed by males and females of different work statuses are shown in the bar graph for the year 1998-1999. It is quite interesting to note that among all the different catergories of employment, the retired and unemployed are the ones that top the charts.
Males tend to enjoy considerably higher hours of leisure time when compared against their female counterparts in the same category of work status. The chart depicts males having approximately 10 hours of additional leisure time in the employed full time, unemployed and retired categories during the year 1998-1999. Another seemingly interesting observation is that there are no considerable diffrence in the leisure time for both males and females in the unemployed and retired employment statuses.
Full time female workers seem to have the least amount of leisure time across all types of employment statuses, close to 40 hours to be exact. Part-time female workers have a marginal increase in leisure time, approximately two hours, over full time female workers. This is followed by full-time male employees having an additional five hours of leisure time over their female counterparts, making their total leisure time clock around 50 hours. Housewives depicted in the chart appear to have more than 50 hours of leisure time.
