The pie charts provide data on male and female employees working hours in governmental and private sectors. Overall, over nearly a third of men regardless of their sector, tend to work more than 46 hours, whereas for women, this figure is nowhere near as dramatic. Notably, the majority of female workers usually allocate 6-12 hours for work.
Starting with governmental sectors, 30% of male workers spend over 46 hours, (the highest percentage for males in this sector). As for women, only 4% of them work more than 46 hours. Moreover, men who work the shortest hours such as 1-2 and 6-5 hours, are in the same proportions of 23% each. The remaining hours, working 31-45 and 13-30 hours do not show as high figures as oppose to other working hours for male employees, while the former allocate for 15%, the latter constitutes 6 percentage points lower proportion of 9%. Women, on the other hand, also showed a similar pattern, with females working for 6-12 hours exhibited the highest proportion of 35. The rest of the working hours, 1-2, 13-30, 31-45, all depicted comparable percentages of 18%, 23%, and 20% respectively.
As regards to private sectors, men working more than 46 hours dominated the trend with 34%, 6-12 working hours ,however, takes this position when it comes to women (35%). Another notable point is that the proportion of both males and females spending 31-45 and 13-30 hours are the same, allocating for 20% each. The substantial gap is witnessed on 1-2 working hours, with more than 20% of women preferring as appose to only 5% of males.
