The chart above illustrates the percentage of people who consumed five portions of fruits and vegetables on a single day in the UK from years 2001 to 2008.
Overall Women were reported to consume the most fruits and Vegetables on each year, in contrast children were seen to consume the least. Through out the years 2001 until 2006 a gradual increase of percentage was reported for women and men, although the percentage of men was constant on the years 2006 and 2007, while children continued to increase in percentage uptil 2007. Until a decrease was recorded, for women after 2006, Men and children after 2007.
During 2001, 2002, the amount of men and children that consumed fruit and vegetavble were identical, above 15 percent and above 10 percent respectively, whereas a slight difference was noticed on the year 2003. However women were found to have consumed fruits and vegetables the most, gradually increasing until 2006, recorded the highest at more than 30 percent and lowest measured at above 20 percent in the year 2001.
Although the percentage for women was recorded to decrease on the year 2007 and the year that follows. The percentage of men was seen to be constant on the years 2006 and 2007 (above 25 percent), until a decrease was reported the following year. In comparison to the percentage of men on the years 2006 And 2007, Childrens percentage was seen to increase (25 percent) until a decrease was measured on the year 2008 (below 25 percent).
