Overall ,it’s clear that agriculture consumes the largest share of water in most regions especially in Africa, Sentral Asia ,South East Asia,where it accounts for over 18% of total use. In contrast industrial use dominates in Europe and North America, while domestic use is relatively small everywhere though slightly higher in South America.
The preparation of water used agricultural is by far the highest is Africa ,Central Asia ,South East Asia accouting for 84% ,88% ,and 81% respectively .South Africa also shows a significant share of 71%. By contrast Europe,North America allocate much less water to than sector , at only 32% and 39% .
Industrial consumption is partulary notable in Europe and North America ,making up 53% and 48% respectively, whereas it is minimal in Africa 7%, Central Asia one in twenty and South East Asia 12%. Domestic use though generally the smallest portion across all regions, is higher in South America 19% and North America less than fifth, but remains below one in ten in Africa ,Central Asia and South East Asia.
