The table illustrates the percentage of telephone users using various mobile phone functions between 2006 and 2010.It is clear that the majority of individuals mostly used the phone for making calls. However, there was an increase in other features, especially searching on the internet.
In 2006, the figure for making calls was the highest among other types of functions, at 100%, followed by sending and receiving text messages (73%) and taking photos (63%). The proportion of playing games and playing music was below 20%, while there was no data for the figures labeled as “Search the Internet ” and “Record video”. Over the following 4-year period, there was a small increase in the figures such as taking photos (by 10%), sending and receiving text messages by 6%.
In 2010, despite of three top functions on the table, there was a significant rise among users who used their phone for recording videos and searching in the internet, with respective numbers standing at 35% and 74%. On the other hand, playing music rose from 18%(in 2008) to 26% in 2010 and playing games made up 41% of mobile phone users in 2010.
