For the newer systems, Washington DC is the biggest with 126 kilometres and 144 million passengers. Kyoto and Los Angeles are much smaller. Kyoto is the smallest system, it has only 11 kilometres and 45 million passengers. Los Angeles has 50 million passengers per year.
