There is a school of thought that physical strenght is important in sport while other people think that mental strenght is more important.

Sport is a very involving activity, and therefore one has to be physically strong to participate in any sporting activity. Firstly, one has to be physically healthy to be physically active. Therefore, eating a balanced diet that gives you energy and support the muscles which plays active role in movement. Second a frail, inflexible body is very prone to injury. As such, physical fitness is also a requirement in sports. Regular training in the gym supports body endurance, flexibility, body mechanics and strength of the muscles, the body feels lighter and the joints are well lubricated. In addition physical fitness ensures the heart is strong and pumps blood efficiently to the rest of the body as well as creating endurance in the lungs ensuring one is having steady breathing during sports session.

Aside from physical strength,mental strenghth is as much important in sports. Activities like meditation.yoga sleep and rest reduces effects of stress hormones on the body. Mental health ensures one is focused, have peace and clarity which is essential as far as matering the tactics of the game is concerned.
