The biggest city by population, with about 51 thousand citizens, is London, and the smallest one is Cambridge, with about 2,180 citizens. Nevertheless, the latest shows more than 20 thousand pounds a year compared to London with approximately 34 thousand.
The lowest salary numbers can be found in Birmingham and Manchester, with around 26 and 25 thousand, respectively. Additionally, Glasgow represents similar numbers, with 26 thousand pounds, although Manchester is bigger in population by almost 1500 thousand citizens.
Although Bristol and Edinburgh have quite different salaries, with around 27 thousand pounds, they do not agree with the citizens’ numbers. On the other hand, there are almost as many people living in Glasgow as in the first city mentioned; salary numbers differ dramatically.
Overall, it would be safe to conclude that cities do differentiate in income opportunities depending on the location in the United Kingdom.
