Overall, walking was chosen by the minority of surveyed – which is only 5% in all 5 cities, while travelling by car and bus is highly popular among people from almost all these cities. In Tokyo the leading position is occupied by train system which was picked by 50% of the polled.
Even though travelling by bicycle can be considered as one of the most eco-friendly ways of transportation it is not that popular among citizens of these 5 cities, the highest picking rate of bicycling was in Paris – nearly 15%, while the lowest was in Tokio – even less than 10%. The majority of Sydney’s people, which is 50%, picked a car as the vehicle that they use most of all, whereas in Tokyo only 20% of interviewed chose this option. In London 30% of people picked both cars and buses as the most convenient ways of travelling for them. In New York travelling by car is widespread and chosen by 40% of surveyed while public transport such as bus and trains is less popular and was a choice of less than 30%.
All in all, such options as walking and bicycling remain disliked in all 5 cities, while other options are picked differently In these cities due to different economic situation and infrastructure of these places.
