The pie charts show changes in the figures for volunteers in six sectors, six years apart (2008 and 2014). Overall, there was a decline in the percentage of volunteers in educational, artistic, and other fields, while the opposite was true for environmental, sports, and healthcare organizations. It is also clear that despite the preponderance of volunteers belonging to educational and environmental organizations in 2008 and 2014, respectively, the biggest change was seen in sport. Witnessing the least pronounced change, health care remained at the bottom in contrast to other categories with bigger variations.
Almost a quarter of the total percentage of volunteers belonged to the educational organization in 2008 (24%), which then decreased to 17% in 2014. By contrast, the proportion of volunteers in the environmental sector, which stood at 21% in 2008, saw a rise of 8%, overtaking educational and securing the leading spot in the chart at 29% in 2014. The figure for art declined from 18% to 12% between 2008 and 2014.
As for the rest of the categories, in 2008, others and sport had the same figure (15%), but then followed two contrasting trends, with the latter seeing the most significant change among all six organizations and reaching 25% in 2014. However, others saw a falling trend, to 9% in 2014. Health care changed very slightly upward, from 7% to a meager 8% throughout the study period.
