The chart below illustrates the recycling rates of four different materials : paper & cardboard, glass containers, aluminium cans ans plastics – in a specific country from 1982 to 2010.
Overall, paper & cardboard had the highest rate of recycling in 1994. While other materials peaked in 2010. Even though plastics were at their lowest point at the beggining of their route and didn’t have any shocking raises throughout those years, they were steadily increasing without any breaks between. Comparatively, situation with aluminium cans had similar start point. Although they’ve launched in 1986, they demonstrated consistent rise, enhancing rates for 5% each year. In detail, paper & cardboard initiated in 1982 as well as glass containers. However, the prior percentage rate differed. The main feature of the paper & cardboard recycling process was that their commencement was grandiose. Moreover, from the graph we could notice that glass containers itinerary was partially alike except for the difference in percentage and final point where glass containers went up and paper & cardboard way down.
In conclusion, all the materials have showed a significant growth through a certain period with aluminium cans improved the most and plastics with the lowest stage.
