The linear graph presents a comparison between the population of 4 Asian countries in a range of 70 years with a prediction on how these values will vary in the last 10 years.
Firstly, it is important to highlight that overall all of the countries have a tendency to increase their population. Having this in mind, the two countries that are expected to have a bigger increase are Malaysia and Indonesia.
The chart shows that Malaysia has been having an exponentially increase, starting with 30% in 1970 and in 2020 with a 75%, it is double of the population in this range of years. Additionally, it is expected that its population raised to 80% in 2040.
Thailand and Indonesia also presents the same tendency as Malaysia. Both countries started with a population between 10%-20% and in 2000 have the same population of 30%. However, in the year of 2010, Indonesia increase more than Thailand in its population, and after that, even though Thailand is also raising its percentage, they have a a difference of almost 10% in each year. Finally, Philippines is expected to maintain its population on 50% in 2040, and between 1990 and 2040 has not fluctuate more than 10%, keeping its percentage in the range of 40% and 50%.
