Band 6: Task 1: The bar chart below shows the results of a survey conducted over a three-year period to discover what people who live in London think of the city (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 1 Sample)

The given bar chart illustrates the outcomes of the research over a three-year period to identify opinions of residents regarding life in London.

Overall, the range of shops was their most satisfying thing among all choices in living London throughout three years even though it experienced a slight decrease, whereas museums & arts galleries, night life and transport were their least popular choices. Meanwhile, preference for diversity of people was approximately the same over the three years.

In terms of the number of shops, London citizens chose it as their top pick with around 45 in 2005. Although this figure declined over the next two years, it remained the highest among all options.

During the same period, only about 20-25 people selected museums & arts galleries, night life and transport as their picks for best aspects of living in London. In contrast, the number of London residents who valued a diverse group showed little difference, remaining around 35 throughout the three years.
