The bar chart compares the proportion of males that enjoy watching sports and those who prefer to be a participant in those six different activities in a nation, specifically in a 16-25 age group.
Overall, the majority of the citizens enjoy observing these sports rather than engaging to them except for fishing, which recorded the largest proportion compared to every other category. Meanwhile, football, horse riding and racing’s figures each represented the most popular watching sports.
Concerning the three highest sports’ figures, around half of the males between the age of 16-25 responded to enjoy participating in fishing, registering for the highest figure recorded among the surveyed activities. However, this sport was only observed by roughly 15%, substantially lower than its corresponding category by 35%. On the other hand, sports such as football, horse riding and racing reported a similar relatively high ratio of audiences, accounting for approximately 45% each. Meanwhile, a significant disparity can be witnessed from their participating figures in comparison, with only roughly one-tenth for football and under 20% for horse riding and racing.
Regarding the remaining figures, Basketball watching rate was moderately high with nearly 40% male audiences aged 16-25, followed by fairly 30% and around 28% for that of rugby and badminton, respectively. In terms of participating, around a quarter of respondents stated to take part in basketball and badminton, while a slightly lower figure by 5% was exhibited for that of rugby.
