Overall, men were more likely than women to participate in football and running, whereas women showed higher participation rates in tennis and ice-skating. Basketball attracted an equal proportion of both genders.

Football was by far the most popular sport among men, with approximately 60% participating, compared to only about 15% of women. In contrast, tennis was more popular among women, at around 40%, while roughly 30% of men took part. Participation in basketball was relatively low and identical for both genders, at just under 20%.
