Overall, while the registration from Chinese students showed a signficant decline, firgures for Amerian and Japanese ones increased gradually over 5-year span. Otherwise, the number of Russian applications remained with a minor fluctuation.

In 2004, the most student came from China with the number of 27000. However, this number decreased to over 15000 in 2008 and resulted China to reach top 2. On the other hand, the application from Russia oscillated slightly around 3000 and 4000 students during the period.
