The four pie charts compare the percentages of the purposes of travel for passengers at four different UK airports in 2016, across Gatwick Airport, Heathrow Airport, Luton Airport, and Stansted Airport.
Overall, it is evident that visiting friends/ family is the most popular. In addition, while visiting friends and family is common with almost all airports mentioned, it is except for Gatwick Airport.
Regarding visiting friends and family, the visiting ranked first in three other airports with the percentage for around half of the passengers, whereas the figure for visiting in Gatwick Airport is 30%. The percentage of holidays is higher than that of visiting in Gatwick Airport, at 54% and 30%, respectively.
14% of passengers travelling for business were seen in both Gatwick and Stansted Airport. Business is more popular with travellers in Heathrow Airport than Luton Airport, with respective figures being 26% and 18%. In contrast, the proportion of the others made up the lowest point in all of the airports.
