The two maps illustrate the changes that have taken place in a student common room from five years ago to present day.
Overall, it is clear that the room has undergone many changes, including replacements, additions, and removals. The purpose of these changes is to develop facilities for students.
Looking at the details, five years ago, the room was designed with four round tables, which could accomodate 24 seats for pupils. At the top of the map, there was a line of cooking-related facilities, including a cupboard, sink, 2 benches, microwave, and a fridge.
But now, the common room has been introduced with many new material facilities. Remarkably, the two round tables have been replaced by rectangular ones, which can save space for other new things, such as a bench fro laptops at the bottom of the map and a drimk machine next to refrigerator. In terms of replacements, a bench has been replaced by another microwave. Another striking change is that television and armchairs have been placed in the lower right corner of the room.
